Consumers Answered
In the gardening community, native plants are often celebrated for their environmental benefits, yet many gardeners encounter significant challenges when trying to incorporate them into their landscapes. According to our survey, the most pressing issue is the availability of native plants, with 27.85% of respondents identifying it as their primary challenge. This shortage may be driven by limited commercial production or regional variances in plant availability, highlighting a gap in the market that could be addressed by nurseries and suppliers.
The second most common challenge is a lack of information (17.47%). This indicates a substantial need for more educational resources and guidance on selecting and growing native plants. Gardeners appear to be struggling not just with finding these plants, but also with understanding which species are appropriate for their specific environments.
